Warcraft Gifts

by on Jun.13, 2009, under World of Warcraft Gifts

Welcome to the Warcraft Gift site by WOW Jewellery, this site has come about by combining the 2 passions of my life which are World of Warcraft and Jewellery. I have decided to expand what was initially an undertaking for personal pleasure into a small range of Warcraft Gifts that others hopefully will enjoy. I have played WOW continuously since its introduction into Europe in the early part of 2005, and I have worked in the Jewellery industry for over 23 years.

My PaladinMy first character to lvl60 was a Human Paladin and I was so excited to complete those last few levels, what a grind they were, those of you who can remember will testify to how long that used to take in the first World of Warcraft release. That’s when a friend said that as I worked in the Jewellery Industry I should have something made up to commemorate the occasion, so that’s what I did, I had my first Warcraft Gift made. The piece I chose was the Alliance Crest as the Warcraft Lore behind it fitted in with my Human Paladin. This was the start of my range of Warcraft Gifts.

World of Warcraft - Human Crest

In other posts on this site I will show each Warcraft Gift I have had made along the way and detail more of the process involved and the Warcraft Lore surrounding each of these Warcraft Gifts. My intention is to develop a complete set of World of Warcraft Racial Crests and significant game Items as Warcraft Gifts, so everyone who plays WoW will be able to purchase a Warcraft Gift that is relevant to them.

Banner of the Horde

by on May.21, 2009, under Horde Pendants, Warcraft Lore

Banner of the Horde

banner-of-the-hordeThis is one of the next Warcraft Gifts that I intend to have made as it encompasses all of the Horde races I think it might be of interest to World of Warcraft players. At some point in the future it would be nice if Blizzard incorporated some emblem to represent the Blood Elves in this Banner.

The Horde

The Horde (New Horde) is one of the two major factions of the mortal races in Azeroth, the other is the Alliance. Its ideals and beliefs have changed over time, but it is the same Horde inherited by Thrall through Warchief Orgrim Doomhammer.

Major races included in the Horde are:

The OrcsOrc Crest

The Orcs are led by Warchief Thrall. Their Capital is Orgrimmar in Durotar. They also have camps throughout Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms and since the reopening of the Dark Portal, they have expanded into Outland. More recently they have moved into Northrend.

The Horde symbol in the centre of the banner represents the Orcs.

The TrollsTroll Crest

The Trolls are led by Shadowhunter Vol’jin. They were forced to flee from their home on Echo Isles when they were attacked by the Kul Tiras marines. They now share a capital with the Orcs in Orgrimmar. They have camps in Durotar, Ashenvale, Stonetalon Mountains and Desolace and control both Horde outposts in Zangarmarsh.

The wooden Voodoo Totems on the Horde banner represent the Trolls.

The TaurenTauren Crest

The Taurens are led by High Chieftain Cairne Bloodhoof. Their capital is Thunder Bluff in Mulgore. They also have camps in the Barrens, Thousand Needles, Stonetalon Mountains, Desolace, Feralas and Felwood. The Taurens are a race of noble creatures who offer spiritual guidance to the Orcs in exchange for their military aid, and also supply them with their Kodo mounts.

The feathers on the Horde banner represent the Taurens.

The Undead ForsakenUndead Crest

The Forsaken are led by the Banshee Queen Sylvanas Windrunner. Their capital is the Undercity in Tirisfal Glades. They also have camps in Silverpine Forest and the Hillsbrad Foothills, as well as a town in the Howling Fjord of Northrend. They are a group of Undead released from the control of the Lich King who have set up a truce with the other members of the Horde.

The worn chains on the Horde banner represent the Undead Forsaken.

The Blood Elves

blood-elf-crest1The Blood Elves are led by Lor’themar Theron, Regent Lord of Quel’Thalas, in the wake of Prince Kael’thas Sunstrider’s betrayal. Their capital is Silvermoon City in Eversong Woods in northern Quel’Thalas. They also have camps in the Ghostlands and an encampment in Hellfire Peninsula in Outland. The Blood Elves were formerly the noble High Elves ,shunned and attacked for their magic addiction and betrayed by members of the Alliance, the Blood Elves turned to the Horde to help them reach Outland and achieve their destiny.

To date the Blood Elves have no representation on the Horde banner future representation could be in the form of a drop of blood or the Phoenix.

Blood Elf Mage Pendant

by on May.11, 2009, under Horde Pendants, Warcraft Lore, World of Warcraft Gifts

Blood Elf

Blood Elf Mage

This World of Warcraft Gift was a one off made for a friend who had decided to make his main a Blood Elf mage although why he switched to the Horde I will never understand lol, probably so he could whip me in Battlegrounds:).

He had seen some of the WoW Crests I had made and thought it would be cool to have a Warcraft Gift pendant for himself. This was made up from a drawing produced from a screen shot of his character the piece measures approx 2.5” inches long by 1.25” wide.

I have also added here, along with the picture of this Warcraft Gift, a brief summary of Warcraft Lore about the Blood Elves

The Blood Elves ( Sin’dorei - meaning “children of the blood”)

Some 10,000 years before the First War they were originally the Highborne Elves under the reign of the night blood-elf-crestelf Queen Azshara. Due to their reckless use of the power of the Well of Eternity they drew the attention of Sargeras and The Burning Legion and this started the War of the Ancients which ended with the destruction of the Well and the release of this power blasted Kalimdor apart. After this Great Sundering the surviving Highborne were exiled from Kalimdor and founded the Kingdom of Quel’Thalas in the Eastern Kingdoms and it was here they formed the Sunwell and called themselves High Elves.

During the Third War, most of the High Elves were eradicated and the Sunwell corrupted when Prince Arthas led his army of the Scourge against them. In remembrance of their fallen brethren, most of them renamed themselves the Blood Elves, or Sin’dorei, and swore to avenge their fallen race. Desperate for aid the Blood Elves allied with the Naga. This was seen as treachery by the Alliance and they were sentenced to death.

Original drawing

Blood Elves feel betrayed by the Alliance and are enemies of both humans and the Night Elves and their only real allies are the Naga although they do work with the Forsaken as they have the same goals.

With the promise of the return of Kael’thas, the Blood Elves have a renewed purpose; they have rebuilt the city of Silvermoon, and now focus on regaining their strength.

Dwarf Crest - The Icon of the Forge

by on Apr.09, 2009, under Alliance Pendants, Warcraft Lore, World of Warcraft Gifts

Dwarf Crest – Icon of The Forge

I have only had one Dwarf Character in World of Warcraft and that was a Priest, therefore so far I haven’t had a reason to make this into a World of Warcraft Gift but will be doing so now to complete the range of Warcraft Racial Crests.

Dwarf Crest

The reason I started a Dwarf Priest was to get the fear ward which as World of Warcraft raiders will know used to be a racial trait only available to Dwarves. As soon as that changed and it became available to all priests I transferred the character to my daughter as being from Scotland originally I couldn’t stand the awful caricature :)

The Dwarves of Ironforge live beneath the mountains of Khaz Modan. The Dwarves have always been strong allies to the humansand they revel in the prospects of battle and storytelling alike.

The Dwarves of Ironforge spent countless generations secure in their impregnable stronghold of Ironforge Mountain, rarely venturing beyond the peaks of Dun Morogh. However when the Orcs invaded Azeroth, they eagerly offered to join the Grand Alliance. The Dwarves proved to be the backbone of the Alliance forces and brought victory after victory. An integral part of the Grand Alliance, the rugged Dwarven armies have been called upon many times to battle the Horde in fDwarf-Crestaraway lands.

The symbol of the Dwarves of Ironforge is known as The Icon of the Forge and displays a hammer and an anvil, symbolizing their skill as blacksmiths. The lightning bolts may refer to the Titans, who created the Earthen, who later became the Dwarves. These symbols represent the Dwarves in the Alliance Crest. This piece will make a great Warcraft Gift and I look forward to having it manufactured.
